Rod Paige,

U.S. secretary of education, stunned members of the National Education Association, the country's largest teachers union, when he compared it to a “terrorist organization.” The union contends that the Bush administration has underfunded the No Child Left Behind Act and placed unrealistic demands on schools. Paige apologized for the comment.
