Idi Amin Age: 80
mercurial Ugandan military dictator whose brutal, tyrannical rule left his country economically and socially devastated. Human rights groups estimate that he ordered the deaths of about 300,000 people. Amin was ousted in 1979, and died in exile in Saudi Arabia. Died: Jidda, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 16, 2003
