legendary record producer whose Sun Records in Memphis launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Howlin' Wolf, B. B. King, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, and popularized rock and roll. He made a fortune with his early investment in Holiday Inn.
