Compay Segundo Age: 95
Cuban musician who was an accomplished traditional balladeer in the 1920s, '30s, and '40s but gained wide fame in the late 1990s, after he formed a band, the Buena Vista Social Club, with other aging Cuban musicians. The band released an eponymous album and Wim Wenders directed a film about the musicians. Died: Havana, July 13, 2003
