Larry Doby Age: 79
Hall of Fame baseball player who, in 1947, became the first black player in the American League. He joined the Cleveland Indians just 11 weeks after Jackie Robinson debuted as a Brooklyn Dodger. In his 13 seasons as a pro, Doby was an All-Star seven times. Died: Montclair, N.J., June 18, 2003
