Hume Cronyn Age: 91
respected stage and screen character actor whose outstanding performances in plays by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Albee, and Beckett revealed his versatility. He was nominated for five Tony Awards, and won for Hamlet. His other Broadway successes include A Delicate Balance and Gin Game. He also won acclaim for his roles in more than 40 films, including Cocoon. He frequently appeared in plays with his wife, Jessica Tandy, who died in 1994. Died: Fairfield, Conn., June 15, 2003
