Winnie Madikizela-Mandela,

former wife of former South African president Nelson Mandela, was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted in April of several charges of theft and fraud. She was involved in a scam in which participants fraudulently obtained bank loans and funeral policies for poor women and then pilfered more than $100,000 from the accounts.
