Walt Rostow

hawkish economist and historian who, as an adviser to presidents Kennedy and Johnson, advocated U.S. aggressive involvement in the Vietnam War. He believed that the fall of Communism in Southeast Asia would spark modernization. Rostow coined Kennedy's 1960 slogan, “Let's Get This Country Moving.”
