Leopoldo Galtieri Age: 76
repressive general and military dictator of Argentina who ordered the ill-fated 1982 invasion of the British-held Falkland Islands. The move led to a 74-day war with England, in which Galtieri's regime was soundly defeated. After the British regained control of the island, Galtieri was convicted of negligence and imprisoned. Died: Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jan. 12, 2003
