Gloria Steinem journalist and feminist Born: 1934
Gloria Steinem has been an influential journalist and speaker for more than 40 years. In 1972 she was a founder and editor of Ms magazine, which became a major forum for women's voices and helped launch Steinem as an icon of the modern feminist movement. Her collection of essays, Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions (1983), is considered a classic.
