Nils Bohlin

Age: 82

engineer who invented the three-point seat belt in the late 1950s as Volvo's chief safety engineer. He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame on the day he died.

Died: Tranas, Sweden, Sept. 21, 2002
