Lance Bass,

singer in the boy band 'N Sync, aspired to be the first celebrity in space when he began his training at the Johnson Space Center in August. He had planned to join three astronauts on a mission to the International Space Station, but his dreams were dashed when his sponsors failed to pony up the $20 million in fees for the trip.
