Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, writers, became instant celebrities with the March publication of their best-selling The Nanny Diaries, a novel about a babysitter who tends to Grayer, the four-year-old son of an outrageously wealthy and self-absorbed couple. McLaughlin and Kraus, who both had worked as nannies on Manhattan's Upper East Side, insisted that the book is a work of fiction.
