former University of Cincinnati men's basketball coach; led the Bearcats to NCAA titles in 1961 and 1962; compiled 11-1 career record in NCAA tournament games; missed out on third straight title in 1963 when his team lost in overtime to Loyola of Chicago 60-58; inherited the team from George Smith in 1960; compiled 113-28 record at UC and school-record .801 wining percentage; coached NBA's Cincinnati Royals for two seasons; past athletic director at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. The cause of his death was not given. Died: Callawassie Island, S.C., Feb. 2
