journeyman outfielder, whose best season was with Kansas City in 1977; won a Gold Glove and finished second in MVP voting in 1977, hitting .312 with 23 HR, 112 RBI and 14 triples; played 13 major league seasons with the Royals, Angels, Tigers and Mariners. He died of a heart attack.
