Ozzie Simmons

Age: 87

University of Iowa halfback 1934-36, who became one of the first black college football players to be named an All-American in 1935; two-time All-Big Ten selection; pro career never materialized because the NFL was not integrated at the time; taught phys ed in Chicago public school system for 38 years; He died of complications from Parkinson's disease.

Died: Chicago, Sept. 26
