Robert Blake, actor, was arrested in April and charged with murdering his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, who was shot in the head in a car parked outside a California restaurant in May 2001. Blake said he went back to the restaurant to retrieve a gun that had fallen out of his pocket and returned to the car to find his wife gravely injured. He was also charged with two counts of solicitation of murder and one count of conspiring with his bodyguard, Earle Caldwell. Blake and Bakley, by all accounts an unhappy couple, married after the June 2000 birth of their daughter.
