Charles Frazier,

literary novelist, reportedly sold the rights to his next book, a Civil War story, to Random House for a whopping $8-million advance. Frazier earned wide praise and notice for his first novel, Cold Mountain, about the odyssey of an injured Civil War deserter back to his beloved.
