Dave Van Ronk

folk singer whose broad knowledge of jazz, folk, and blues earned him the nickname “Mayor of Greenwich Village.” He is considered largely responsible for the folk revival of the 1950s and '60s and mentored such musicians as Bob Dylan and Suzanne Vega.
