Pablo Antonio Cuadra

Age: 89

Nicaraguan poet who was an acolyte of Rubén Darío and a student of French classic poets Verlaine and Rimbaud. Once a conservative and a follower of Somoza, Cuadra later rallied on behalf of Nicaragua's poor and embraced the ideology of the intelligentsia.

Died: Managua, Nicaragua, Jan. 2, 2002
