Ian Hamilton

Age: 63

British poet, editor, and biographer who wrote a controversial, unauthorized biography of J. D. Salinger. Salinger successfully sued to block distribution of the book. Undaunted, Hamilton swiftly wrote another book, In Search of J. D. Salinger, about the ordeal and about the reclusive author. Hamilton also established several literary journals in England, including the Review and the New Review.
