Charlie Coe

remarkable amateur golfer who won U.S. amateur titles in 1949 and 1958; lost 1959 title defense to Jack Nicklaus after a 36-hole playoff; appeared in 19 Masters as an amateur, finishing tied for second in 1961; appeared on seven Walker Cup teams and was named captain twice. The cause of his death was not given.
