Tim Weigel

a 30-year veteran of Chicago's sports' airwaves; started his career at the defunct Chicago Daily News in 1971 and also worked for the Chicago Sun Times; after years at WLS-TV and WMAQ-TV, he was named sports director at WBBM-TV in 1995; Yale freshman-year roommate of longtime Chicago film critic Gene Siskel; diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2000. The cause of his death was not given.
