Dorothy McGuire

Age: 83

distinguished film, stage, and television actress who often portrayed strong but sensitive women. She starred in Broadway's Claudia (1941) and in its film adaptation (1943). She made her stage debut at age 13, opposite a young Henry Fonda, in A Kiss for Cinderella. Other roles include A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945) and Gentleman's Agreement (1947).

Died: Santa Monica, Calif., Sept. 14, 2001
