John Steadman

Age: 73

well-respected Baltimore sportswriter and columnist; hired by the Baltimore News-Post in 1945; broke story of Baltimore's first return to the NFL in 1952; covered 719 straight Colts/Ravens games; joined The Evening Sun staff after the Post-American folded in the 1980s and joined the Baltimore Sun in 1995; authored seven books; won three Freedom Foundation medals; served on the selection committee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He died of cancer.
