Nkosi Johnson, 12,

South African AIDS victim who devoted his short life to fighting discrimination against AIDS victims, died in June. Born with the disease, Johnson far exceeded his life expectancy. He gained international prominence when he delivered a heart-wrenching speech at the 13th International AIDS conference in 2000.
