Joseph Moakley

popular politician from Massachusetts who served for 15 terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. A quintessential Boston Irish Democrat, Moakley dedicated his career to his district, securing federal funds to clean up Boston Harbor, to heat the homes of the poor, and to initiate the Big Dig.
