Jane Swift,

politician, became Massachusetts's first woman governor in April, when Governor Paul Cellucci, recently confirmed as ambassador to Canada, passed the torch to his second-in-command. Swift, 36, is the youngest governor in the country, and she became the first to give birth while in office when her twins arrived in May.
