Ruth Dyk

Age: 99

activist who for decades championed women's rights. In her long career, Dyk worked as a psychiatric social worker with delinquent girls, wrote books on psychology, and studied the Navajo Indians with her husband, Walter Dyk. Her books include Anxiety in Pregnancy and Childbirth and Left Handed.

Died: Rochester, N.Y., Nov. 18, 2000
