mathematics professor at Hamilton College who was known as the "Wise Professor" of sailing; raced Star boats for 30 years winning North American and Australian championships, and placing third in the world championships in 1949; book titles to his credit include, “Successful Yacht Racing”, “Thoughts on Small Boat Racing,” and “Win More Sailboat Races.”
