Jeff MacNelly Age: 52
Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist whose elaborate comic strips and political cartoons were syndicated nationally; won Pulitzer in 1972, 1978 and 1985; debuted the strip "Shoe" in 1977; joined the Chicago Tribune staff in 1982; his illustrations appeared in the Information Please Sports Almanac from 1991-94. He died of lymphoma. Died: Baltimore, June 8, 2000
