Donald Liddle

Age: 75

N.Y. Giants pitcher who threw the pitch that Cleveland's Vic Wertz drove 460 feet and Willie Mays turned into his famous over-the-shoulder catch during Game 1 of the 1954 World Series at New York's Polo Grounds; appeared in 117 games with Milwaukee, N.Y. Giants, and St. Louis; retired in 1958. He died of lung cancer.
