Eric Turner

Age: 31

Oakland Raiders defensive back who played nine seasons in the NFL following a remarkable college career at UCLA; second pick overall (by Cleveland) in 1991, the highest draft position for a defensive back in league history; played six seasons with Cleveland/Baltimore before signing with Oakland before the 1997 season; tied for league lead in interceptions (9) in 1994; named to Pro Bowl in 1994, 1996; recorded 30 career interceptions and 789 tackles in the NFL; earned All-America honors at UCLA where he ranks fourth in career interceptions and tackles. He died of complications of abdominal cancer.
