Harry Newman

Age: 90

All-American triple-threat tailback who led Michigan to an undefeated season in 1932 and as a rookie QB led the Giants to the NFL's first title game in 1933; threw the first pass in an NFL title game, but lost to the Bears, 23-21, at Wrigley Field; won NFL title in 1934; lost only one game at Michigan where he ran, passed, kicked and played safety; won the Douglas Fairbanks Trophy (the forerunner of the Heisman Trophy) in 1932; played one season with the Brooklyn Tigers of the AFL and retired in 1937; member of the College Football Hall of Fame. The cause of his death was not given.
