silver medallist in the 200-meter race at the 1936 Summer Games and older brother of baseball Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson; lost 200m to Jesse Owens in Berlin by 0.4 seconds; set national junior college records in the 100, 200, and long jump; helped carry the Olympic flag into Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 1984; the Pasadena Robinson Memorial, honoring both brothers, was dedicated in 1997; He died of diabetes complications, kidney failure, and pneumonia.
