premier pop-art sculptor known for his tableaux of life-sized white plaster human figures placed in everyday situations. Unlike other pop artists, Segal produced emotionally compelling tableaux, including “Gay Liberation” and “The Holocaust.” Died: South Brunswick, N.J., June 9, 2000
