12, illiterate guerrilla leaders of God's Army, a Christian group of Karen tribesmen who live in hiding in the jungle near the Burmese-Thai border, ordered their followers in Jan. to take hostage 500 staff members and patients at Thailand's Ratchaburi Regional Hospital. The siege was reportedly in response to artillery fire on their camp by the Thai and Burmese military. Thai commandos wasted no time, invading the hospital and killing all the rebels within a day. (The twins did not take part in the siege.)
