Donna Hanover,

actress, broadcast journalist, and wife of New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, announced in April plans to appear in the controversial Off-Broadway play by Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues. The play's topics range from childbirth to orgasm to rape. The move raised eyebrows not only because of the subject matter, but also because the playwright is a close friend and supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is running for the U.S. Senate against Giuliani. Hanover postponed her performance days after her husband announced he has prostate cancer.
