San Francisco 49ers No. 1 fan who attended every home game starting Sept. 1, 1946 except for the day his father died; honored in 1998 and rewarded with a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame; very superstitious, he always took a city bus to the game, entered the park through the same gate and handed his ticket to the same employee. He died of cancer.
