Jacqueline Auriol

Age: 82

decorated French pilot who, in 1953, became the second woman to break the sound barrier. She started as a stunt pilot and went on to be a military test pilot, flying more than 100 types of planes. She was married to Paul Auriol, the son of Vincent Auriol, the former president of France.
