Carl Bert Albert Age: 91
Oklahoma politician who served as Democratic Speaker of the House from 1971 to 1976. Albert was elected to Congress in 1947 and never left until his 1976 retirement. He was next in line to assume the presidency two times: first when Vice President Spiro T. Agnew resigned in 1973, and again in 1974 when Nixon resigned and Ford became president. Died: McAlester, Okla., Feb. 4, 2000
