Primo Nebiolo

Age: 76

president of the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) since 1981; responsible for creating the world championships and organizing sponsorship and television coverage; no one except IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch had more influence in the world of international sports at the time of his death; member of the International Olympic Committee; head of the sports federations for the Summer Olympics (ASOIF); president of the body that organized the World University Games (FISU). Nebiolo died of a heart attack.
