Paul Cadmus, Age: 94painter known for his painstaking realist style that was often confrontational and controversial. His works include “The Fleet's In”, a 1930's painting that depicted a group of prostitutes and a pair of soldiers in uniform who were obviously flirting with each other. He referred to himself as a “literary painter.” Though he never enjoyed a wide following within — or outside — the art establishment, his influence is seen today in young artists.
