Johnny Van Ryn

paired with Wilmer Allison to anchor the United States Davis Cup teams from 1929-36 that made five final-round appearances; posted an impressive 7-1 singles record and 22-2 doubles record in Davis Cup competition over his career; won four career Grand Slam titles and national titles in 1931 and 1935; as a singles player, ranked in the top 10 from 1927-32.
