Anita Carter

(Ina Anita Carter)

musician who began singing professionally at an early age with her parents, sisters, and other relatives as the influential country group, the Carter Family. She went on to record a number of albums and singles, including “I Got on You,” the popular duet she sang with Waylon Jennings.

Died: Goodlettsville, Tenn., July 29, 1999
