The Bribe Payers' Index ranks the 30 leading exporting countries
according to the degree to which their companies are perceived to be
paying bribes abroad to senior public officials. According to the latest
survey, published by Transparency International in 2006, the countries
most likely to offer bribes are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil,
Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan,
Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia,
Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan,
Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United
States. According to Transparency International, India, China, and Russia
are the worst offenders.
