Kent Hollingsworth

Age: 69

editor, then publisher of The Blood-Horse weekly magazine from 1963-86 who oversaw the publication's rise to become an authoritative source on thoroughbred racing and breeding; circulation increased from 6,800 to 21,700 during his 23-year tenure; wrote the magazine's "What's Going On Here" column; began as a news photographer and sports reporter for the Lexington Leader in 1954; authored five books; former president of the National Turf Writers, Thoroughbred Club of America and National Museum of Racing; former chairman of the Racing Hall of Fame Committee from 1982-86; practiced law after leaving the magazine and served as a Distinguished Lecturer in equine law in the Equine Industry Program at the University of Louisville.
