Anthony Newley

Age: 67

multitalented British entertainer who found international fame in film, theater, and music. Among his successes were the 1961 musical Stop the World—I Want to Get Off (which he wrote with Leslie Bricusse), and the hit song “The Candy Man.”

Died: Jensen Beach, Fla., April 14, 1999
