Charles Morey

Age: 82

retired sports director for The Associated Press Broadcast Department; joined AP in 1945 and wrote radio scripts before the department grew to include television; became sports director in 1954 and authored "The Sportsman," a daily script of news and analysis that was carried by many broadcasters. Died of a serious illness.

Died: New York City, March 2, 1999
