Andre Dubus Age: 62
noted writer who penned the highly acclaimed Pulitzer Prize runner-up Broken Vessels (1992) and the National Book Critics Circle finalist Dancing After Hours (1997). His writing often drew on his experiences, including his confinement to a wheelchair after losing a leg in an accident in 1986. Died: Haverhill, Mass., February 24, 1999
